Faith with Works

Be doers of the word, and not hearers only. — James 1:22

Local 3:16 exists to unite the church, serve our city, and demonstrate the love of Christ through faith in action. We believe God's will is accomplished when believers move beyond words and become the hands and feet of Jesus — bringing heaven's influence to our community through acts of service, compassion, and truth. Faith with works.

Why We Exist

Love that has been poured in is meant to be poured out. We believe the truest response to the love of Jesus is to carry it back into the community we live in — simply, practically, shoulder to shoulder, until the whole city feels it.

A couple of hours a month, from every willing believer, can change the face of a city.
How the Union Works

The need is already known. The workers are already willing. We connect them.

The nonprofits serving our city already do the heavy lifting — what they need most is people. And most believers want to serve, but life is full: making ends meet, raising kids, holding a family together. Too often, just finding the right opportunity takes longer than the serving itself. That's where Local 3:16 steps in. We do the legwork — building the relationships, finding the openings — and match you with the organization that fits your passion and your season of life.

01 — WEAR IT

The Shirt Starts the Conversation

The badge on your chest is a question someone will ask. Every Local 3:16 piece is a walking invitation to the love of Christ and the work being done in His name.

02 — DO IT

Show Up and Get to Work

Tell us what you care about, and we'll match you with the organization that fits. A couple of hours a month is enough. You bring the hands — we'll point you to the harvest. That's the union.

Where We Go

We go to the forgotten places first.

We partner with the organizations already doing the hardest, holiest work in our city — and we bring them the one thing they can never get enough of: people. These are the frontlines where Local 3:16 puts faith to work.

About Local 3:16

Started by a man
who was found.

Grace showed up for him. Now we show up for others.

Local 3:16 was founded by Mikey — a man who knows firsthand what it means to be written off, and what it means to be found. Decades lost to addiction. A three-word prayer from a prison cell: "God, help me." Fifteen years sober, working union jobs that taught him what brotherhood really means: show up, do the work right, and carry the weight together.

When the storm hit again years later, it was the church that showed up for him — and out of that came a calling. Mikey went into the streets asking one question: What can I do to help? The answer became Local 3:16 — a union of believers connecting willing hands to the organizations that need them most.

Someone showed up for Mikey when he had nothing left. Now there's work to do, and people still waiting. Will you show up with us?
